LAWRENCE SIMPERS Lawrence Albert Simpers, son of the late Joseph Reed and the late Fannie Bertha Simpers, was born on November 17, 1934 in Elkton, MD. He departed this life on June 8, 2022. He was raised and attended public school in Elkton. After high school, he entered the U.S. Air Force where he served for 20 years. On June 29, 1963, he married the Love of His Life, Catherine. They settled in Inglewood, CA, where he worked for American Airlines for 17 years. He and Catherine then relocated to Henderson, where he worked for the Clark County School District for 12 years as a Crossing Guard. Lawrence loved the little children who affectionately called him Mr. Larry. Lawrence loved spending time watching sports, news, and enjoying the time he spent with his friends as they would meet each week for lunch. The group would continue to meet for many years with their spouses in the group, including his beloved Catherine. Lawrence continued meeting up with friends until recently when his own health began to decline. Lawrence was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Catherine, of 49 years; his father, Joseph Reed and his mother, Fannie B Simpers; sister, Mary Elizabeth Ryder; and nieces, Marva Grier and Brenda Bishop. He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Michael S Simpers; one granddaughter, Erica S. Simpers; adopted son and daughter, Ronald S. Krause and Dr. Gloria V. Krause; two adopted grandchildren, Cheri D. Martinez and Kyna Krause; three great-grandchildren, Ondre G. Wills, Destiny Santiago, and Xavier R. Holmes; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Lawrence loved his family and he will truly be missed by them and all that were blessed and had the honor to know him. Rest in Peace Lawrence Albert Simpers. Services will be at 10 am Mon., July 11, at Palm Eastern Mortuary, 7600 S Eastern Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89123. Committal services will follow.
